Position: Professor of department of “Nanotechnology and Metallurgy”
Issin Daulet Kalykovich was graduated in 1966 from Karaganda Polytechnic Institute with a degree in “Foundry of ferrous and non-ferrous metals” and all his labor activity is connected with the Karaganda State Technical University. In 1970 – 1974 he studied at the graduate school TsNIICHM named after Bardin (Moscow) and at the same institute in 1974 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences.
In 1979the title of Associate Professor was awardedby the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Council of Ministers of the USSR.
In MGPII named after Maurice Toreza (Moscow) he completed French courses, underwent language training in France (Paris, Montpellier) and from 1982 to 1986, as a professor at Annaba University of ANDR (Algeria), he read lectures to foreign students on technical subjects in French language.
He takes an active part in solving problems of higher education. Standard programs in the specialty “Engineering” were developed with his participation. Repeatedly, he was appointed by order of the NTSCSOT the Representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the organization of UNT and PGK and was awarded a letter of thanks from the NTSCSOT. Issin D.K. actively uses information and communication tools when conducting classes: slide lectures, multimedia presentations and interactive technologies that ensure the development of students’ independence.
He is the head of the dissertation for undergraduates and graduation projects of students of the specialty “Metallurgy”, “Material Science and Technology of New Materials”. He supervises the scientific work of students who, following the results of the Republican competitions for scientific research, became winners of diplomas and other awards. He constantly takes a part in international scientific conferences on the problems of further development of mechanical engineering and metallurgy. State standards, standard and work programs in the specialties: “Engineering” and “Metallurgy” were developed with his participation .
In 2007, the staff of the library of KSTU organized a presentation of his works, at which the present teachers and students noted the great importance of these works for the preparation of bachelors and masters.
The confirmation of a significant increase in his pedagogical and scientific qualifications was the decision of KKSON of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 2014 on awarding him the academic title of “Professor” in the specialty “Metallurgy”.
The main areas of his research are effective ways to improve the preparation of iron ore in the steel industry and improve the quality of engineering materials, as well as research on the problems of higher education.
He is the executor of a number of republican projects (fundamental and applied research, projects, contractual work): the creation of a center of heat-resistant materials for the space and aviation industries; the development of the technology for the production of complex castings for casting according to gasified models; the development of mathematical and computer models of sand-resin forms for the production of castings for critical purposes; the development and research of the production process of high-quality metal; the development of technology for the production of nanostructured metal products by combining the processes of casting blanks and punching in equal-channel step matrices (RKSM); the development of technology for the smelting of new types of calcium-containing ferroalloys from dump manganese slag and high-ash coals; the development of technology for the smelting of manganese ferroalloys and alloys using hard-to-reach manganese and ferromanganese ores; the development of technology for smelting ferrosilicon FS75 from quartzite from the Bobrovsky deposit; the research and pilot testing to obtain ferroalloys from sludge from the black shales of Greater Karatau; the industrial development and implementation of technology for stabilizing slag of refined ferrochrome by regulating the basicity of slag.
He is the author of more than 280 works published in the state, Russian and French languages, including more than 39 textbooks recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for students and undergraduates of higher educational institutions; 2 textbooks recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for college teachers, 53 study guides; 2monographs; 16 innovative patents and intellectual property; 10 articles in rating international scientific journals having, according to the information base of the Thomson Reuters company (ISI web of Knowledge, Thomson Reuters) a non-zero impact factor; 27 scientific papers in publications recommended by the Committee; 27 e-learning tools.
His textbooks which published in KSTU are used by students from other universities in Kazakhstan, they are noted by numerous positive reviews and letters of thanks from the heads of universities and professors.
The awards of Issin D.K.: a medal named after A. Baitursynov (2010) for the preparation of textbooks for universities of Kazakhstan, the badge “Honorary Mechanical Engineer of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (2013). He was awarded the “For Academic Honesty” award established by Alma University (2015), and was awarded the breastplate “Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (2016). He became a winner of the state grant “Best University Teacher” two times.
In the work of Issin D.K. distinguished by conscientiousness, diligence, a creative approach to solving educational and production problems. He established himself as a competent and qualified specialist over the period of work. He pays much attention to improving the quality of training and takes an active part in all university events. He is respected among teachers and students.
