Academic degree:Doctor of Technical Sciences

Position:Professor of the Department of Metallurgy and New Materials

In 1975 he graduated from the secondary school named after S. M. Kirov. In 1975, he entered the Plant-VTUZ underКарМКthe KarMK with a degree in Ferrous Metallurgy (now Karaganda State Industrial University)and received a diploma with the qualification of a metallurgical engineer. After graduating from the university in 1980, he was sent to the Chemical and Metallurgical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR. In the period from 1980 to 1997, he worked in the laboratory of ferroalloys and reduction processes and metallurgical melts, holding positions from engineer to senior researcher.

In 1992, he successfully defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in specialty 05.16.02 “Metallurgy of ferrous metals” on the topic “Physical and chemical modeling and development of ferrosilicon aluminum smelting technology”.

Participated as a responsible executive and manager in organizing and conducting a series of pilot and industrial tests for the smelting of special alloys and steel from 1986 to 2002 at the metallurgical enterprises of the Ermakov and Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant, the Karaganda Metallurgical Plant, the Karaganda Machine-building Plant, the Ural Aluminum Plant, the Nikopol and Zaporozhye Metallurgical Plants, the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant, the plant Ferrosilicon aluminum, etc.

Participated in the development of a business project and organization of a mini-ferrosilicon aluminum plant in Ekibastuz, Pavlodar region.

In connection with the opening of the specialty “Metallurgy” at Aktobe State University in 1997, he was invited under a contract for a period of 5 years to teach. Participated in the training of engineering personnel and organization of the Department of Metallurgy, which was first organized in the western region at Aktobe State University named after K. Zhubanov. After the contract ended in 2002, he worked at KGIU as an associate professor, professor and head of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Science.

Defended (2.02.2007) his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Development of scientific foundations and development of technology for complex ferroalloy smelting”.

Since January 2008, he has been appointed Head of the Department of Materials Science and Technology of Metals. In April 2009, he was awarded the academic title of professor in the specialty 05.16.00 “Metallurgy”. In September 2009, he was elected an academician of the International Academy of Informatization (MAIN).

During his time at NAO KarIU, he was engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities, conducted lectures and practical classes in Russian and the state languages in general education and special disciplines: “Fundamentals of scientific research and organization of experiments”, “Special chapters of the theory of metallurgical processes”, “Theory of Electrometallurgical processes”, “Theory and technology of steel production, special steels and ferroalloys”, “Computer-aided design of metallurgical complexes”, “Physical and chemical methods of research and analysis in metallurgy”, “New materials”, “Innovative technologies in metallurgy”, etc. In addition, he is the head of research topics, supervises graduate students, undergraduates and graduate students.

In 2011, he was appointed Head of the Laboratory of Engineering profile “Electron Microscopy and Nanotechnologies” (EM and N) at KGIU.

The research interests of Professor Nurumgaliyev A. Kh. are wide and diverse, it concerns not only the theory of metallurgical processes and the study of the distribution of components in the “Me – slag –gas” phases, but also technological developments in the utilization and processing of substandard raw materials углеотходовof coal waste, manganese and barite ores to obtain new complex ferroalloys and alloys to improve the quality characteristics of steel and alloys.

Since September 2025 – Professor of the Department “Metallurgy and New Materials” of NAO “Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov”.

For successful research and teaching activities in different years, he was awarded departmental awards:

winner of the state grant “Best University Teacher” in 2015; in 2013 he was awarded the medal “For Services to the development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan”; For services to the University, awarded the medal “For Services to KGIU”in 2015; Awarded the national prize “Golden Hephaestus” in the nomination “Scientist-teacher of the Year 2015 in MMC specialties” – 2015
